Use
Canesten Vaginal Tablets are used to treat recurrent candidiasis (yeast infections). Canesten’s anti-mycotic and fungicidal properties are able to relieve the itching and discomfort associated with candidiasis.

Dosage
In most cases a 3 to 6 day treatment regime with Canesten tablets will relieve most symptoms of infection. The tablets are applied by inserting one or two tablets as deep as possible into the vagina. The tablets work best when they are applied before going to bed.

Side Effects
Some people find that localized irritations or burning sensations occur after using Canesten. These side effects are usually mild and the patient should not be concerned. Other people have reported lower abdominal cramping and increased urine output after taking Canesten.

Precautions
It is not usually recommended for use during the first 3 months of pregnancy. However, talk to your doctor about the proper use and dosage of Canesten during pregnancy.
